Time Zone Texting

Tonight was going to be a different, albeit more serious, posting. But due to an opportunity to closeout another legacy obligation, deep thoughts will not be provided. Instead, this whimsical sharing is provided for your amusement or bemusement.

Yesterday was my brother’s birthday. My brother is currently five time zones to my left. My overlooked intentions for yesterday was to text him birthday greetings, taking advantage of available cellphone service technology. I forgot, all day long.

I remembered this morning, @ 5:30 am. Without being time zone cognizant, I texted him 5 space 8 characters “happy birthday”. The text message promptly arrived, at 12:30 am his time……..He was asleep when his cellphone went off.

He called me today, to chide me for the miscue. I’m still laughing.
