365.6 Give a Toot
I used to teach defensive driving for a local adult education program. In it, I made mention of the three Cs of unsafe driving – Cell phones, Cigarettes, and Coffee. Also made mention of the proper use of the vehicle horn. The vehicle horn should only be used to alert other drivers as to hazardousituations.
Well, the Cs of unsafe driving are known & recognized hazardousituations. To the extreme, and I’ve seen this twice, a driver with a lit cigarette, cup of coffee and talking on a cell phone. Both were oblivious and ran red lights in front of my green light. More common is the cell phone driver in the right lane driving below the speed of traffic, at rushour, creating a rolling road hazard.
So, when you see one of these hazardousituations, Give a Toot.
