Monarch Butterfly
Taken at Fort Williams, in Cape Elizabeth, not more than 50 yards, more or less from the crashing Atlantic Ocean.
I was there after the funeral and celebration of life of an employee who passed away after a five year battle with cancel. I was never even sure where I wanted to be then, that afternoon. Lost in limbo.
But, I had my camera, and know where waves will be.
This photo is a nice compliment to one I snagged five years and about two weeks ago in Columbus, Ohio. One of those shots and times that will always be here.
May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

Simply stunning.
It looks even better with the dark background.
You’re quite impmressive.

there is some asian saying about the passing of life and then seeing a butterfly. it’s the person’s way of saying good-bye. maybe that was your good-bye.
beautiful photo. (the one in columbus, too)
