Day 273

AT Thru-Hiker.
1900 miles behind him.
284 miles in front of him.

I have always admired, openly envied, while quietly scheming & dreaming for my season on the Appalachian Trail. This hiker and I crossed paths yesterday at the Height of the Land.

The day was not ideal hiking weather. A hard drizzle and fog obscured one of the finest views in Maine. The less than ideal weather reveals the true though hiker, one who endures the miles while not letting the weather obscure the vision of completion.

That’s the lesson. The daily weather sets he daily reality that cannot be argued against, or even grudgingly endured. Reality and the weather are synonymous. IF argued against, your day becomes less.
