Day 362: Winter Storm Chicago

Southern Maine’s third actionable storm of the 2012/13 season has been named Chicago. This storm started in the southern plains, charged up the Appalachian mountains and hybrized Chicago, Gulf of Mexico, and eventually Gulf of Maine moisture into today’s storm that spread from Lake Erie to Prince Edward Island. Nearly a nor’easter.

Late morning found the storm really pounding the reason with heavy snow. I spent several hours working at my other facility and had drove back to the main facility through heavy slogging snow. It was worth it.

This amount of snow cover will stay for awhile and make for some enjoyable snow shoeing this weekend.
