For me, that will be hiking the Appalachian Trail. From one end to the other, start to finish. Each day a challenge. Each day a reward not like any or every day. One season of my living constrained only by the next step in front of me.
Instead, the 2,000 or so plus miles seems daunting. So does living a longer life. Instead, simpler thinking prevails. Life is best lived one day at a time. Even better when lived one moment after the next. Trails are not hiked by the miles. Each step taken is its own victory.
I read, imagine & dream of the time when I am still able. Instead, I live the 7 AM to 4 PM get up, got to work, and push ideas from one side of my desk to another side. Then back again. Back and forth.
Time to tie my boots.
