Red pill, blue pill

If you could get all the nutrition you needed in a day with a pill — no worrying about what to eat, no food preparation — would you do it?

No. Just the sublime political dogmatical choice of colors is alarming. It screeches to blind allegiance of red v blue that works against the greater good against the political dualities.

Nutritious consumption exceeds basic essentials. Efficient consumption does not trump essential consumption. Consumption includes the act of enjoyment. The joy of preparation. The skillful blending of ingredients into a creation that exceeds the simplistic duality of Red v Blue.

The ceremony of preparation leads to the celebration of eating. Whether it be a feast or a snack, the act needs to exceed the simple task of swallowing.

For example, right now, I am enjoying the salty tartness of kettle cooked salt’n’vinegar baked potatoe chips. The vinegar tartness prepares the palette for the salty crunchy. SnV chips are an essential component of the true Yankee lunch suite. Best paired with an Italian sandwich.

Add a Whoopie Pie, and you’ll never turn to a red and/or blue pill again.
