Old v New

On the left, the 2007 Montana Mountaineer ~ aka Wild Thing II. On the right, the 2008 Winnebago Destination ~ project name: WD08.

WD08 is the fourth RV in the past nineteen years of evolutionary growth.  Two popup tent trailers, one travel trailer – WTI, this fifth fifth wheel, WTII.   Typing it out loud makes WD08 the fifth RV over the past nineteen years.  Its time to stop thinking about the next one and enjoying this one.

WTII was delivered to a consignment sales lot in New Hampshire yesterday. {yes, there was a brief burst of contained silent sadness}  Hopefully for more positive sales results. The CraigsList FSBO was a disappointing dismal lackluster episode.  I have never been into sales that much to begin with.  The whole process lingers on through natural & necessary stages that test one’s patience of reality v common sense necessity.

WD08 drives like a dream, once you get used to the amplified swaying to the rhythms of the road caused by height above the road. Nearly everything needed is on board. (except for the vehicle towed behind.)

The transition remains in progress.  Once WTII is sold, BigBlue is next. BigBlue is the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4×4 with the 8.1L V8 gas engine. Comes with a Superglide Hitch, toneau cover, running board, mud flaps, brake controller and RV’esque mirror attachments. Then, towed vehicle shopping.

Next weekend, we start hitting the road.

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.
