Postcard from Maui Day One

Aloha!

Its 4:12 AM Maui time. My body says 9:12 AM SalemsLot time.

Day one was a 22 hour long travel day. It was a SunSweep day, first being chased by the sun, then chasing the sun. The flight out of Boston Logan was a dawn. The eastern horizon was deep orange. By Phoenix at midday, the sun was catching up. We made it to Maui with two hours of daylight left. This time was consumed first at baggage claim (it was big full airplane). Then easily an hour standing in line at the rental car place. (see big full airplane.)

By the time we got to the west coast of Maui, the sun had long set into deepening darkness.

Today,we rest, refresh reconnoiter while moving from this hotel to our timeshare resort. Tomorrow morning, the plan is to catch sunrise at 9,000sh feet.
