Daily Prompt – the Golden Hour

6:00AM: the best hour of the day, or too close to your 3:00AM bedtime?

The Golden Hour according to Wiki:

In photography, the golden hour (sometimes known as magic hour, especially in cinematography) is a period shortly after sunrise or before sunset during which daylight is redder and softer compared to when the Sun is higher in the sky.

You can actually go to the golden hour at anytime by using the White Balance function of your camera. Typically, the Cloudy symbol can be used to soften the light and shift towards the warmer red. This technique also enhances sunsets & sunrises.

Personally, I see 6 AM at least five days a week. It is that I leave my rural & remote sanctuary for a one-hour each way commute. Part of this ride takes me over the Roal River in Yarmouth & then briefly along the shore of Casco Bay.  The sky always provides a varying show.

YMMV
