Finger Lakes

We spent two full days exploring the Finger Lakes region.   Two days is not enough, perhaps two weeks or really more. The wineries were great. The ‘wine cellar/closet’ is pleasantly stocked with plans of fine dining to get through the upcoming Maine winter. Due to the overall dryness of August, the waterfalls were tepid.

Watkins Glen has a legacy of true road racing, from the old course through town to modern era at Watkins Glen International.  Which is closed now to the public for necessary course repaying. If it wasn’t, for a nominal fee, the public can drive several laps at pace car speeds. Perhaps another hopeful time?

And seveveral more final photographs.

Our next destination: Niagara Falls.

  1. We were there last year at this same time and are returning next week (Sept 21-25, 2015). Also hitting Niagara on the same trip.
